Dalam dunia komputer algoritma (baca: matematika), merupakan salah satu unsur yang penting dalam menghemat (baca:irit,kompres) ukuran file. Sebuah file (data) oleh komputer hanya dikenal sebagai 2 angka saja yaitu bilangan biner 0 dan 1, jadi contoh file seperti berikut!

nah baris pertama itu ada 64 angka yang kalau kita persingkat (irit,kompres) akan sama dengan 32 kali 01.. mirip2 rumus deret matematika yang pernah kita tahu waktu di SMP, SMA atau bahkan di perguruan tinggi..

jadi lebih simpel kan, daripada kita nulis segitu banyak iya kalau cuman 64 kalau ada ribuan bahkan jutaan miliaran biliunan wuuuah dak bisa kebayang tuh.. apa jadinya kalau kita tidak mengenal software Winzip, 7zip dan zip-zip yang lainnya... :)

namun, tidak semua deret akan lebih irit kadangkala itu tidak mempunyai sebuah pola, jadi seperti yang baris kedua harus ditulis seperti itu tidak bisa tidak.. jadi capek dech..

hasil nyatanya adalah perbedaan ukuran file dari sebuah gambar berformat BMP, JPG bahkan GIF. BMP lebih besar dari JPG dan GIF, sedangkan GIF lebih kecil dari JPG dan BMP. JPG berada di tengah2..

kita harus bersyukur ternyata dengan matematika dan komputer nya.. kita bisa menghemat ruang harddisk kita, mungkin juga flshdisk kita, kalo jaman baheula ya disket kita dech.. tapi ingat tidak semua file bisa lebih irit.. sama halnya kalo kita ingin mengkompres file jpg menjadi zip tidak jauh-jauh ama perbedaan ukuran filenya.. ji..hi..

Ikhtisar dan sejarah matematika

Kata "matematika" berasal dari kata μάθημα(mÃ¡thema) dalam bahasa Yunani yang diartikan sebagai "sains, ilmu pengetahuan, atau belajar" juga μαθηματικός (mathematikÃ³s) yang diartikan sebagai "suka belajar".

Disiplin utama dalam matematika didasarkan pada kebutuhan perhitungan dalam perdagangan, pengukuran tanah dan memprediksi peristiwa dalam astronomi. Ketiga kebutuhan ini secara umum berkaitan dengan ketiga pembagian umum bidang matematika: studi tentang struktur, ruang dan perubahan.

Pelajaran tentang struktur dimulai dengan bilangan, pertama dan yang sangat umum adalah bilangan natural dan bilangan bulat dan operasi arimetikanya, yang semuanya itu dijabarkan dalam aljabar dasar. Sifat bilangan bulat yang lebih mendalam dipelajari dalam teori bilangan. Investigasi metode-metode untuk memecahkan persamaan matematika dipelajari dalam aljabar abstrak, yang antara lain, mempelajari tentang ring dan field, struktur yang menggeneralisasi sifat-sifat yang umumnya dimiliki bilangan. Konsep vektor, digeneralisasi menjadi vektor ruang dipelajari dalam aljabar linier, yang termasuk dalam dua cabang: struktur dan ruang.

Ilmu tentang ruang berawal dari geometri, yaitu geometri Euclid dan trigonometri dari ruang tiga dimensi (yang juga dapat diterapkan ke dimensi lainnya), kemudian belakangan juga digeneralisasi ke geometri Non-euclid yang memainkan peran sentral dalam teori relativitas umum. Beberapa permasalahan rumit tentang konstruksi kompas dan penggaris akhirnya diselesaikan dalam teori Galois. Bidang ilmu modern tentang geometri diferensial dan geometri aljabar menggeneralisasikan geometri ke beberapa arah:: geometri diferensial menekankan pada konsep fungsi, buntelan, derivatif, smoothness dan arah, sementara dalam geometri aljabar, objek-objek geometris digambarkan dalam bentuk sekumpulan persamaan polinomial. Teori grup mempelajari konsep simetri secara abstrak dan menyediakan kaitan antara studi ruang dan struktur. Topologi menghubungkan studi ruang dengan studi perubahan dengan berfokus pada konsep kontinuitas.

Mengerti dan mendeskripsikan perubahan pada kuantitas yang dapat dihitung adalah suatu yang biasa dalam ilmu pengetahuan alam, dan kalkulus dibangun sebagai alat untuk tujauan tersebut. Konsep utama yang digunakan untuk menjelaskan perubahan variabel adalah fungsi. Banyak permasalahan yang berujung secara alamiah kepada hubungan antara kuantitas dan laju perubahannya, dan metoda untuk memecahkan masalah ini adalah topik dari persamaan differensial. Untuk merepresentasikan kuantitas yang kontinu digunakanlah bilangan riil, dan studi mendetail dari sifat-sifatnya dan sifat fungsi nilai riil dikenal sebagai analisis riil. Untuk beberapa alasan, amat tepat untuk menyamaratakan bilangan kompleks yang dipelajari dalam analisis kompleks. Analisis fungsional memfokuskan perhatian pada (secara khas dimensi tak terbatas) ruang fungsi, meletakkan dasar untuk mekanika kuantum di antara banyak hal lainnya. Banyak fenomena di alam bisa dideskripsikan dengan sistem dinamis dan teori chaos menghadapi fakta yang banyak dari sistem-sistem itu belum memperlihatkan jalan ketentuan yang tak dapat diperkirakan.

Agar menjelaskan dan menyelidiki dasar matematika, bidang teori pasti, logika matematika dan teori model dikembangkan.

Saat pertama kali komputer disusun, beberapa konsep teori yang penting dibentuk oleh matematikawan, menimbulkan bidang teori komputabilitas, teori kompleksitas komputasional, teori informasi dan teori informasi algoritma. Kini banyak pertanyaan-pertanyaan itu diselidiki dalam ilmu komputer teoritis. Matematika diskret ialah nama umum untuk bidang-bidang penggunaan matematika dalam ilmu komputer.

Bidang-bidang penting dalam matematika terapan ialah statistik, yang menggunakan teori probabilitas sebagai alat dan memberikan deskripsi itu, analisis dan perkiraan fenomena dan digunakan dalam seluruh ilmu. THE TRIBE OF ISRAEL WILL BECOME VERY HAUGHTY

We decreed in the Book for the tribe of Israel: "You will twice cause corruption on Earth and you will reach [a degree of] great haughtiness. When the promised first time came, We sent against you servants of Ours possessing great force, and they ransacked your houses, rampaging right through them. It was a promise that was fulfilled. Then once again We gave you the upper hand over them, supplied you with more wealth and children, and made you the most numerous group." (Qur'an, 17:4-6)

As these verses reveal, the Children of Israel were to cause two corruptions over the world. After the first one, during which they adopted a very high level of haughtiness, Allah sent a powerful army against them. Indeed, when the Jews killed Prophet Yahya (as) and set a trap to kill Prophet 'Isa (as) ("reaching to a degree of great haughtiness"), they were exiled shortly afterwards from Jerusalem by the Romans in 70 and wandered all over the world.

When that verse was revealed to the Prophet (saas), the Jews were living under very difficult conditions in various countries and had no state of their own. Yet, Allah told the Children of Israel that one day they would recover their strength. At that time, however, there seemed to be almost no chance that this would really happen. Many centuries later, however, the Jews returned to Palestine and established the State of Israel in 1948. Today, Israel possesses military and political power and keeps the Middle East in great turmoil because of its Zionist ideology and harsh treatment of Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

This is a sign of the Children of Israel's second "corruption." However, this wicked behaviour clearly does not apply to the entire Jewish people, among whom there are many individuals of good conscience and common sense who do not agree with Israel's Zionist and anti-Arab policies.

In this and other verses, we notice that almost no one could believe that such things would ever come about. But Allah willed their fulfilment, and thereby provided believers with more proof that the Qur'an is a miraculous book revealed by Him for their benefit.

THE CONQUEST OF MAKKAH

Allah has confirmed His Messenger's vision with truth: You will enter the Masjid al-Haram [Sacred Mosque] in safety, Allah willing, shaving your heads and cutting your hair without any fear. He knew what you did not know and ordained, in place of this, an imminent victory. (Qur'an, 48:27)

One night in Madinah, the Prophet (saas) dreamed that the believers would enter the Sacred Mosque and walk around the Ka`bah. After he awoke, he gave this good news to the believers, for those who had migrated from Makkah to Madinah with him had not been able to return since.

In Surat al-Fath 27, Allah revealed to the Prophet (saas) that He would help and support him, that the dream was true, and that the believers would enter Makkah. A short while later, with the Treaty of Hudaybiyah and the conquest of Makkah, the believers entered the Sacred Mosque in complete safety, just as the dream had foretold. That was how Allah showed that it had been His will that the Prophet's (saas) dream be fulfilled.

On closer consideration, this verse can be seen to announce yet another victory that will take place before Makkah's capture: the capture of the Khyber Fortress, which was under the control of the Jews, before they entered Makkah.183

Other verses that give the glad tidings of Makkah's conquest are given below:

He held their hands back from you, and your hands from them in the valley of Makkah, after giving you the upper hand over them. Allah sees what you do. (Qur'an, 48:24)

Truly We have granted you a clear victory, so that Allah may forgive you your earlier errors and any later ones, complete His blessing upon you, and guide you on a Straight Path. And so that Allah may help you with a mighty help. (Qur'an, 48:1-3)

Surat al-Isra' 76 states that the unbelievers cannot stay in Makkah:

They were very near to scaring you from the land with the object of expelling you from it. But had they done so, they would only have remained there a short time after you. (Qur'an, 17:76)

The Prophet (saas) entered Makkah and conquered it in 8 ah (630). Two years later, all of the unbelievers left Makkah, just as Allah had said that they would. Another point that should be noted here is that when the Prophet (saas) gave that good news to the believers, it looked totally out of the question. In fact, the situation pointed in quite the opposite direction, and the polytheists appeared quite determined never to let the believers enter Makkah. As a result, those who had doubts in their hearts began to doubt the Prophet's (saas) words. Yet, the Prophet (saas) trusted in Allah, paid no attention to the doubters' words, and told people what Allah had revealed to him. The Qur'an confirmed his words, and the prediction was fulfilled shortly afterwards.

THE PRESERVATION OF PHARAOH'S BODY

As we shall see later on, Pharaoh regarded himself as a deity and responded with slanders and threats to Prophet Musa's (as) calls for him to believe in Allah. This arrogant attitude lasted until he was faced with the threat of death through drowning. The Qur'an relates that Pharaoh immediately turned to belief when faced with Allah's punishment:

We brought the tribe of Israel across the sea, and Pharaoh and his troops pursued them out of tyranny and enmity. Then, when he was on the point of drowning, he [Pharaoh] said: "I believe that there is no god but Him in Whom the tribe of Israel believes. I am one of the Muslims." (Qur'an, 10:90)

However, this last-minute conversion was not accepted, for it was not sincere. According to the Qur'an, Allah exclaimed:

"What, now! When previously you rebelled and were one of the corrupters? Today we will preserve your body so you can be a Sign for people who come after you. Surely many people are heedless of Our Signs." (Qur'an, 10:91-92)

The information that Pharaoh's corpse would serve as a sign for later generations may be regarded as an indication that his body would not decay. On display in the Royal Mummies Chamber of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo is a mummified body believed to be that of this tyrant. In all likelihood, Pharaoh's body floated to shore after being drowned, was found and mummified by the Egyptians, and then carried to a previously prepared burial chamber.182

Gempa Bumi 6,7 SR Guncang NTB

Bandung (fitb.itb.ac.id)- Masyarakat Nusa Tenggara Barat dikejutkan dengan guncangan gempabumi berkekuatan cukup besar dinihari tadi. Gempabumi terjadi dinihari tadi pada pukul 02:41:46 WIB dengan kekuatan gempa 6,7 SR.

Berdasarkan informasi dari BMKG, gempa terjadi dini hari tadi (9/11), pada pukul 02:41:46 WIB. Gempa berkekuatan 6,7 SR pada kedalaman 25 km, berjarak 28 km BaratLaut Raba-Nusa Tenggara Barat/NTB, pusat gempabumi berada pada koordinat 8.24 LS - 118.65 BT. Informasi yang sama juga dikeluarkan United States Geological Survey (USGS).

Wilayah Nusa Tenggara merupakan bagian dari 25 wilayah Indonesia yang rawan terkena gempa bumi, beberapa wilayah lainnya yaitu, Aceh, Sumatera Utara (Simeulue), Sumatera Barat - Jambi, Bengkulu, Lampung, Banten Pandeglang, Jawa Barat, Bantar Kawung, Yogyakarta, Lasem, Jawa Timur, Bali, NTT, Kepulauan Aru, Sulawesi Selatan, Sulawesi Tenggara, Sulawesi Tengah, Sulawesi Utara, Sangir Talaud, Maluku Utara, Maluku Selatan, Kepala Burung-Papua Utara, Jayapura, Nabire, Wamena, dan Kalimantan Timur.

Rencana Kerjasama FITB dan ICT Belanda

Bandung fitb.itb.ac.id, Bertempat di Ruang Multimedia, FITB menerima tamu kehormatan dari ICT Belanda, pertemuan tersebut guna membahas rencana kerjasama pendidikan dan penelitian antara Program Studi Teknik Geologi dengan The Department of Earth System Analysis, International Institute for Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC) – The Netherlands, yang rencananya akan dituangkan dalam Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) antara FITB dengan ITC. Pertemuan ini dibuka oleh Wakil Dekan bidang Sumberdaya, Dr. Ir. Rubiyanto Kapid dan dilanjutnya oleh diskusi yang dipimpin oleh Ketua Program Magister dan Doktor Teknik Geologi, Dr. Eng. Imam A. Sadisun. Pihak ITC diwakili oleh Course Director Applied Earth Sciences/Senior Project Office, Drs. Tom M. Loran.

Diskusi diawali oleh pemaparan program pendidikan, terutama Program Magister Teknik Geologi dengan bidang pengutamaan Geologi Ekonomi. Hal ini berkaitan dengan rencana pembuatan program double/dual degree antara FITB dengan pihak ITC di bidang Geologi Ekonomi. Dalam kesempatan ini, Drs. Tom M. Loran juga telah menyampaikan sistem pendidikan yang berlaku di ITC dan berbagai pengalamannya dalam mengelola program double/dual degree. Dalam bidang pendidikan, telah dibahas pula kemungkinan bentuk-bentuk kerjasama lainnya, seperti pertukaran/kunjungan profesor/dosen, kuliah tamu, dan pertukaran materi kuliah. Yang menarik, pihak ITC juga menawarkan perkuliahan jarak jauh melalui internet yang telah mereka kelola selama ini.

Di bidang penelitian, telah direncanakan untuk melakukan penelitian bersama (joint research) untuk berbagai bidang keahlian di geologi. Indonesia yang memiliki kekhasan geologi, tentunya akan sangat menarik bagi para peneliti asing, termasuk dari ITC. Bahkan dalam diskusi ini telah disepakati bersama bahwa program penelitian bersama akan lebih cepat didorong untuk bisa segera direalisasikan.

Sebenarnya inisiasi kerja sama ini diawali pada tahun 2005, ketika Dr. Paul van Dick berkunjung ke Teknik Geologi dan menawarkan kerjasama dengan pihak ITC. Namun setelah kunjungan tersebut tidak ada follow up dari pihak geologi, sehingga hubunga ini terputus. Saat ini hubungan kerjasama ini mulai dibina lagi seiring dengan kengininan ITB untuk menjadi World Class University. Kepada saya ditempat terpisah, Drs Tom Loran mengatakan bahwa beberapa wakil dari ITC sendiri telah datang ke beberapa universitas lain di Bandung dan Yogyakarta yang memiliki fakultas/departemen dengan keilmuan kebumian, namun saat ini semuanya sama sekali tidak memberi respon. Sehingga beliau menyampaikan bahwa pihak ITC sangat berharap kerjasama dengan ITB ini dapat direalisasikan secepat mungkin

Gaya Endogen dan Eksogen Sangat Berjasa Bagi Kehidupan Manusia

Semua pasti tahu bahwa Bumi ini tidak statis, tetapi dinamis. Hal itu ditandai dengan -salah satunya- banyaknya siklus di permukaan dan di bawah permukaan Bumi. Diantara siklus-siklus itu antara lain adalah siklus Batuan (Rock Cycle) dan daur Hidrologi (siklus air).

Pertanda lain bahwa bumi itu dinamis adalah adanya pergerakan lempeng bumi relatif terhadap lempeng lainnya. Kita telah mengetahui bahwa kerak Bumi (crust) ini terdiri dari retakan-retakan. Retakan-retakan ini disebut lempeng. Hal ini diungkapkan oleh seorang geologist yang bernama Alfred Wegener dalam teorinya yang bernama Continental Drift Theory (Teori Pengapungan Benua).

Setelah mengetahui fakta bahwa Bumi ini dinamis, maka kita bisa menyimpulkan bahwa pasti ada banyak gaya yang terdapat di Bumi. Menurut letaknya, ada dua gaya yang bekerja di Bumi ini : Gaya Endogen dan Gaya Eksogen.

Gaya Endogen adalah gaya yang bekerja di dalam Bumi. Gaya Endogen (kompresi dan tensional) dapat menyebabkan berubahnya struktur geologi bawah permukaan. Lapisan yang semulanya relatif sejajar dengan tanah, bisa saja menjadi melengkung dan menjadi lipatan (fold) akibat gaya kompresi.

Gaya Eksogen adalah gaya yang bekerja di permukaan Bumi. Gaya ini dapat berupa pengikisan-pengikisan oleh air, angin, dan lain-lain.

Untuk lebih memahami Gaya Endogen dan Eksogen, mari kita lihat gambar di bawah ini :

Terlihat bahwa pada awalnya sebelum gaya Endogen bekerja, lapisan itu tampak normal. Namun setelah gaya Endogen bekerja lapisan itu mengalami lipatan dan terbentuklah struktur antiklin dan sinklin. Lapisan yang telah mengalami gaya Endogen ini disebut Morfologi awal.

Lalu setelah lapisan itu terlipat, gaya Eksogen mulai bekerja. Terjadilah pengikisan tanah oleh air (bisa saja disebabkan oleh banjir) sehingga tersibaklah stratigrafinya (morfologi akhir).

Lalu makna apa yang bisa kita simpulkan dari adanya gaya Endogen dan gaya Eksogen ini?

Manusia sangat perlu berterima kasih kepada Tuhan YME karena telah mengadakan kedua gaya di atas. Kesejahteraan manusia sangat bergatung kepada gaya dalam dan luar itu. Kita semua tahu bahwa akumulasi minyak dan gas Bumi biasanya ada pada struktur lipatan antiklin. Oleh karena minyak dan gas bumi itu terkumpul di situ, manusia bisa mengebornya. Bayangkan jika lapisan bumi itu lurus dan sejajar saja. Jasad renik yang telah membusuk dan mengalami proses fisika kimia yang panjang itu pasti tidak bisa kita manfaatkan. Kandungan minyak pasti menyebar. Mustahil mengebornya satu-satu.

Gaya Endogen yang menyebabkan terjadinya lipatan itu juga sangat berjasa bagi pariwisata negara kita khususnya. Daerah pegunungan biasanya dijadikan tempat wisata. Dan itu memberikan manfaat yang besar bagi negara dan masyarakat sekitar.

Begitu juga dengan gaya Eksogen. Setelah stratigrafi suatu daerah tersibak, terlihatlah sumber daya alam, seperti emas dan batubara, yang selama ini terpendam di bawah permukaan.

Jadi jelaslah bahwa gaya Endogen dan Eksogen sangat berjasa bagi kehidupan manusia.

Prediction In The Qur'an

INTRODUCTION

Another miraculous aspect of the Qur'an is its prediction of future events, all of which have so far been fulfilled. This is one of the proofs that the Qur'an is the Word of Allah. In the following pages, we will dwell on some of these events.

THE VICTORY OF BYZANTIUM

An astonishing prediction is found in the first verses of Surat ar-Rum, which refers to the Byzantine Empire, the eastern part of the later Roman Empire: The Byzantine Empire, which had met with a great defeat, would soon gain victory.

Alif, Lam, Mim. The Romans have been defeated in the lowest land, but after their defeat they will be victorious within three to nine years. The affair is Allah's from beginning to end. On that day, the believers will rejoice. (Qur'an, 30:1-4)

These verses were revealed around 620, almost 7 years after the idolatrous Persians had severely defeated Christian Byzantium in 613-14. In fact, Byzantium had suffered such heavy losses that it seemed impossible for it even to survive, let alone be victorious again. Following their defeat of the Byzantines at Antioch in 613, the Persians seized control of Damascus, Cilicia, Tarsus, Armenia, and Jerusalem. The loss of Jerusalem in 614 was particularly traumatic for the Byzantines, for the Church of the Holy Sepulchre was destroyed and the Persians seized the "True Cross," the symbol of Christianity.174 In addition, the Avars, Slavs, and Lombards also were posing serious threats to the Byzantine Empire. The Avars had reached as far as the walls of Constantinople. Emperor Heraclius ordered the gold and silver in churches to be melted and turned into money in order to meet the army's expenses. When this proved insufficient, bronze statues were melted down in order to mint more money. Many governors had revolted against Heraclius, and Byzantium was on the point of collapse.175 Mesopotamia, Cilicia, Syria, Palestine, Egypt and Armenia, which had earlier belonged to Byzantium, were invaded by the idolatrous Persians.176

In short, everyone was expecting Byzantium to be destroyed. But during this time, the first verses of Surat ar-Rum were revealed, announcing that Byzantium would triumph in 3 to 9 years. This predicted victory seemed so impossible that the Arab polytheists thought it would never come true.

Like all the other predictions in the Qur'an, however, this one also came true. In 622, Heraclius gained a number of victories over the Persians and conquered Armenia.177 In December 627, the two empires fought a decisive battle at Nineveh, some 50 kilometres east of the Tigris river, near Baghdad. This time too, the Byzantine army defeated the Persians. A few months later, the Persians had to sue for peace with Byzantium, which obliged them to return the territories they had taken from it.178

The Byzantine victory was completed when Emperor Heraclius defeated the Persian ruler Khosrow II in 630, recaptured Jerusalem, and regained the "True Cross" for the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.179 In the end, "the victory of the Romans" proclaimed by Allah in the Qur'an miraculously came true within the verses' stated "three to nine years" time frame.

Another miracle revealed in these verses is the announcement of a geographical fact that could not have been known by anyone at that time: that the Romans had been defeated in the lowest region of Earth. This Arabic expression adna al-Ard is interpreted as "a nearby place" in many translations. However, this is not the literal meaning, but rather a figurative interpretation. The word adna, derived from the word dani (low), means “the lowest”. The word ard means “the world.” Therefore, adna al-ard means "the lowest place on Earth."

Some interpreters of the Qur'an, considering the closeness of the region in question to the Arabs, prefer the "closest" meaning of the word. However, the actual meaning indicates a very important geological fact: The Dead Sea, one of the regions in which the Byzantines were defeated in 613-14, is the lowest region on Earth.180

As stated earlier, for Christian Byzantium, the loss of the True Cross was the heaviest blow in that defeat in Jerusalem, located near the shores of the Dead Sea.

The Byzantines and the Persians actually fought at the Dead Sea basin, which is situated at the intersection point of the lands belonging to Syria, Palestine, and Jordan. At 399 meters below sea level, the Dead Sea is the "lowest" place on Earth's surface.181

However, as only modern measuring methods and equipment can prove this fact, it would have been impossible for anyone living at that time to realise this truth. Yet, the Qur'an states clearly that this region was the "lowest land" on Earth and thereby provides further evidence that it is the Word of Allah.

Relativitas Waktu

Kini, relativitas waktu adalah fakta yang terbukti secara ilmiah. Hal ini telah diungkapkan melalui teori relativitas waktu Einstein di tahun-tahun awal abad ke-20. Sebelumnya, manusia belumlah mengetahui bahwa waktu adalah sebuah konsep yang relatif, dan waktu dapat berubah tergantung keadaannya. Ilmuwan besar, Albert Einstein, secara terbuka membuktikan fakta ini dengan teori relativitas. Ia menjelaskan bahwa waktu ditentukan oleh massa dan kecepatan. Dalam sejarah manusia, tak seorang pun mampu mengungkapkan fakta ini dengan jelas sebelumnya.

Tapi ada perkecualian; Al Qur'an telah berisi informasi tentang waktu yang bersifat relatif! Sejumlah ayat yang mengulas hal ini berbunyi:

"Dan mereka meminta kepadamu agar azab itu disegerakan, padahal Allah sekali-kali tidak akan menyalahi janji-Nya. Sesungguhnya sehari di sisi Tuhanmu adalah seperti seribu menurut perhitunganmu." (Al Qur'an, 22:47)

"Dia mengatur urusan dari langit ke bumi, kemudian (urusan) itu naik kepada-Nya dalam satu hari yang kadarnya adalah seribu tahun menurut perhitunganmu." (Al Qur'an, 32:5)

"Malaikat-malaikat dan Jibril naik (menghadap) kepada Tuhan dalam sehari yang kadarnya limapuluh ribu tahun." (Al Qur'an, 70:4)

Dalam sejumlah ayat disebutkan bahwa manusia merasakan waktu secara berbeda, dan bahwa terkadang manusia dapat merasakan waktu sangat singkat sebagai sesuatu yang lama:

"Allah bertanya: 'Berapa tahunkah lamanya kamu tinggal di bumi?' Mereka menjawab: 'Kami tinggal (di bumi) sehari atau setengah hari, maka tanyakanlah kepada orang-orang yang menghitung.' Allah berfirman: 'Kamu tidak tinggal (di bumi) melainkan sebentar saja, kalau kamu sesungguhnya mengetahui'." (Al Qur'an, 23:122-114)

Fakta bahwa relativitas waktu disebutkan dengan sangat jelas dalam Al Qur'an, yang mulai diturunkan pada tahun 610 M, adalah bukti lain bahwa Al Qur'an adalah Kitab Suci.

Bumi Itu Dinamis. Apa Buktinya ?

Semua orang pasti tahu bahwa bumi ini dinamis terhadap benda lain di tata surya. Bumi bergerak berputar mengelilingi matahari. Dan bersama matahari mengelilingi galaksi Bimasakti (milky way). Ternyata bumi dan matahari bersama bintang-bintang dan planet lain di galaksi ini juga bergerak saling menjauh dengan galaksi lain (teori big bang).

Namun, ternyata bumi itu sendiri dinamis. Apakah buktinya bahwa bumi ini dinamis?

Mari kita lihat beberapa buktinya:

Bukti pertama adalah adanya bermacam siklus di bumi. Siklus tersebut antara lain adalah siklus batuan (Rock Cycle) dan siklus Air.

Siklus batuan.

Jika ditelaah lebih dalam, akan sulit untuk menemukan titik awal suatu siklus (namanya saja putaran). Nah, untuk memudahkan kita mempelajari siklus ini, kita mulai bahasannya dari sebuah gunung berapi.

Ketika gunung berapi meletus, akan keluar lahar yang suhunya sangat panas. Lama kelamaan lahar tersebut membeku dan membentuk batuan beku (igneous rock).

Jika terkena suhu dan tekanan yang tinggi, batuan beku tersebut akan berubah menjadi batuan metamorf (metamorphic rock). Sedangkan jika terkena gaya eksogen (erosi, pelapukan), dan mengalami pengompakan dan sementasi, akan menjadi batuan sedimen (sedimentary rock). Batuan sedimen jika terkena suhu dan tekanan yang tinggi juga akan berubah menjadi batuan metamorf.

Nah, pada saat terjadi subduksi (penunjaman, lempeng benua dan lempeng samudra beradu. Karena lempeng benua lebih keras, lempeng samudra menunjam ke bawah), batuan metamorf yang terkubur di sekitar zona subduksi akan meleleh. Voila..!!! Jadilah magma. Lama kelamaan terbentuk gunung berapi. Jika gunung berapi itu meletus, akan keluar lahar.

Siklus itu terjadi berulang-ulang.

Siklus Air (Daur Hidrologi)

Ketika matahari sedang dengan teriknya menyinari bumi, sebagian air di lautan menguap. Di kemudian uap tersebut mengalami kondensasi (pengembunan). Terjadilah awan. Karena perbedaan tekanan, awan tersebut bergerak ke daratan.

Di daratan, awan yang membawa uap air itu turun ke bumi menjadi hujan. Air hujan itu sebagian ada yang meresap ke tanah -menjadi air tanah- dan mengalir melalui aliran-aliran tertentu (sungai). Aliran sungai itu akan berakhir di muara. Begitulah siklus air berlangsung.

Bukti yang lain adalah seringnya terjadi gempa bumi.

Kita tahu bahwa permukaan bola bumi ini tidak bulat mulus, melainkan retak-retak seperti telur. Retakan-retakan ini disebut lempeng (crust). Ada lempeng benua (continental crust) dan ada lempeng samudra (oceanic crust). Banyak lempeng di bumi ini. Lempeng tersebut berinteraksi satu sama lain. Interaksi lempeng tersebut dikendalikan oleh arus konveksi yang ada pada lapisan mantel Bumi. Untuk mengetahui labih jauh tentang lempeng bumi, bacalah artikel tentang continental drift theory ini.

Jika dua buah lempeng berinteraksi, terjadilah gempa. Interaksi dua buah lempeng juga lah yang menyebabkan terbentuknya gunung berapi (proses subduksi).

However, masih banyak bukti-bukti lain yang menjelaskan bahwa bumi itu dinamis. Namun karena keterbatasan ~~ide~~ waktu, baru dua buah bukti di atas yang bisa kuungkapkan.

Penciptaan yang Berpasang-Pasangan

"Maha Suci Tuhan yang telah menciptakan pasangan-pasangan semuanya, baik dari apa yang ditumbuhkan oleh bumi dan dari diri mereka maupun dari apa yang tidak mereka ketahui." (Al Qur'an, 36:36)

Meskipun gagasan tentang "pasangan" umumnya bermakna laki-laki dan perempuan, atau jantan dan betina, ungkapan "maupun dari apa yang tidak mereka ketahui" dalam ayat di atas memiliki cakupan yang lebih luas. Kini, cakupan makna lain dari ayat tersebut telah terungkap. Ilmuwan Inggris, Paul Dirac, yang menyatakan bahwa materi diciptakan secara berpasangan, dianugerahi Hadiah Nobel di bidang fisika pada tahun 1933. Penemuan ini, yang disebut "parité", menyatakan bahwa materi berpasangan dengan lawan jenisnya: anti-materi. Anti-materi memiliki sifat-sifat yang berlawanan dengan materi. Misalnya, berbeda dengan materi, elektron anti-materi bermuatan positif, dan protonnya bermuatan negatif. Fakta ini dinyatakan dalam sebuah sumber ilmiah sebagaimana berikut:

"…setiap partikel memiliki anti-partikel dengan muatan yang berlawanan … … dan hubungan ketidakpastian mengatakan kepada kita bahwa penciptaan berpasangan dan pemusnahan berpasangan terjadi di dalam vakum di setiap saat, di setiap tempat."

Semua ini menunjukkan bahwa unsur besi tidak terbentuk di Bumi, melainkan dibawa oleh meteor-meteor melalui ledakan bintang-bintang di luar angkasa, dan kemudian "dikirim ke bumi", persis sebagaimana dinyatakan dalam ayat tersebut. Jelas bahwa fakta ini tak mungkin diketahui secara ilmiah pada abad ke-7, di saat Al Qur'an diturunkan. Rahasia Besi

Besi adalah salah satu unsur yang dinyatakan secara jelas dalam Al Qur'an. Dalam Surat Al Hadiid, yang berarti "besi", kita diberitahu sebagai berikut:

"…Dan Kami turunkan besi yang padanya terdapat kekuatan yang hebat dan berbagai manfaat bagi manusia ...." (Al Qur'an, 57:25)

Kata "anzalnaa" yang berarti "kami turunkan" khusus digunakan untuk besi dalam ayat ini, dapat diartikan secara kiasan untuk menjelaskan bahwa besi diciptakan untuk memberi manfaat bagi manusia. Tapi ketika kita mempertimbangkan makna harfiah kata ini, yakni "secara bendawi diturunkan dari langit", kita akan menyadari bahwa ayat ini memiliki keajaiban ilmiah yang sangat penting.

Ini dikarenakan penemuan astronomi modern telah mengungkap bahwa logam besi yang ditemukan di bumi kita berasal dari bintang-bintang raksasa di angkasa luar.

Logam berat di alam semesta dibuat dan dihasilkan dalam inti bintang-bintang raksasa. Akan tetapi sistem tata surya kita tidak memiliki struktur yang cocok untuk menghasilkan besi secara mandiri. Besi hanya dapat dibuat dan dihasilkan dalam bintang-bintang yang jauh lebih besar dari matahari, yang suhunya mencapai beberapa ratus juta derajat. Ketika jumlah besi telah melampaui batas tertentu dalam sebuah bintang, bintang tersebut tidak mampu lagi menanggungnya, dan akhirnya meledak melalui peristiwa yang disebut "nova" atau "supernova". Akibat dari ledakan ini, meteor-meteor yang mengandung besi bertaburan di seluruh penjuru alam semesta dan mereka bergerak melalui ruang hampa hingga mengalami tarikan oleh gaya gravitasi benda angkasa.

Semua ini menunjukkan bahwa logam besi tidak terbentuk di bumi melainkan kiriman dari bintang-bintang yang meledak di ruang angkasa melalui meteor-meteor dan "diturunkan ke bumi", persis seperti dinyatakan dalam ayat tersebut: Jelaslah bahwa fakta ini tidak dapat diketahui secara ilmiah pada abad ke-7 ketika Al Qur'an diturunkan.

Langit yang Mengembalikan

Ayat ke-11 dari Surat Ath Thaariq dalam Al Qur'an, mengacu pada fungsi "mengembalikan" yang dimiliki langit.

"Demi langit yang mengandung hujan." (Al Qur'an, 86:11)

Kata yang ditafsirkan sebagai "mengandung hujan" dalam terjemahan Al Qur'an ini juga bermakna "mengirim kembali" atau "mengembalikan".

Sebagaimana diketahui, atmosfir yang melingkupi bumi terdiri dari sejumlah lapisan. Setiap lapisan memiliki peran penting bagi kehidupan. Penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa lapisan-lapisan ini memiliki fungsi mengembalikan benda-benda atau sinar yang mereka terima ke ruang angkasa atau ke arah bawah, yakni ke bumi. Sekarang, marilah kita cermati sejumlah contoh fungsi "pengembalian" dari lapisan-lapisan yang mengelilingi bumi tersebut.

Lapisan Troposfir, 13 hingga 15 km di atas permukaan bumi, memungkinkan uap air yang naik dari permukaan bumi menjadi terkumpul hingga jenuh dan turun kembali ke bumi sebagai hujan.

Lapisan ozon, pada ketinggian 25 km, memantulkan radiasi berbahaya dan sinar ultraviolet yang datang dari ruang angkasa dan mengembalikan keduanya ke ruang angkasa.

Ionosfir, memantulkan kembali pancaran gelombang radio dari bumi ke berbagai belahan bumi lainnya, persis seperti satelit komunikasi pasif, sehingga memungkinkan komunikasi tanpa kabel, pemancaran siaran radio dan televisi pada jarak yang cukup jauh.

Lapisan magnet memantulkan kembali partikel-partikel radioaktif berbahaya yang dipancarkan Matahari dan bintang-bintang lainnya ke ruang angkasa sebelum sampai ke Bumi.

Sifat lapisan-lapisan langit yang hanya dapat ditemukan secara ilmiah di masa kini tersebut, telah dinyatakan berabad-abad lalu dalam Al Qur'an. Ini sekali lagi membuktikan bahwa Al Qur'an adalah firman Allah.

Atap yang Terpelihara

Gambar ini memperlihatkan sejumlah meteor yang hendak menumbuk bumi. Benda-benda langit yang berlalu lalang di ruang angkasa dapat menjadi ancaman serius bagi Bumi. Tapi Allah, Pencipta Maha Sempurna, telah menjadikan atmosfir sebagai atap yang melindungi bumi. Berkat pelindung istimewa ini, kebanyakan meteorid tidak mampu menghantam bumi karena terlanjur hancur berkeping-keping ketika masih berada di atmosfir.

Dalam Al Qur'an, Allah mengarahkan perhatian kita kepada sifat yang sangat menarik tentang langit:

"Dan Kami menjadikan langit itu sebagai atap yang terpelihara, sedang mereka berpaling dari segala tanda-tanda (kekuasaan Allah) yang ada padanya." (Al Qur'an, 21:32)

Sifat langit ini telah dibuktikan oleh penelitian ilmiah abad ke-20.

Atmosfir yang melingkupi bumi berperan sangat penting bagi berlangsungnya kehidupan. Dengan menghancurkan sejumlah meteor, besar ataupun kecil ketika mereka mendekati bumi, atmosfir mencegah mereka jatuh ke bumi dan membahayakan makhluk hidup.

Atmosfir juga menyaring sinar-sinar dari ruang angkasa yang membahayakan kehidupan. Menariknya, atmosfir hanya membiarkan agar ditembus oleh sinar-sinar tak berbahaya dan berguna, - seperti cahaya tampak, sinar ultraviolet tepi, dan gelombang radio. Semua radiasi ini sangat diperlukan bagi kehidupan. Sinar ultraviolet tepi, yang hanya sebagiannya menembus atmosfir, sangat penting bagi fotosintesis tanaman dan bagi kelangsungan seluruh makhluk hidup. Sebagian besar sinar ultraviolet kuat yang dipancarkan matahari ditahan oleh lapisan ozon atmosfir dan hanya sebagian kecil dan penting saja dari spektrum ultraviolet yang mencapai bumi.

Kebanyakan manusia yang memandang ke arah langit tidak pernah berpikir tentang fungsi atmosfir sebagai pelindung. Hampir tak pernah terlintas dalam benak mereka tentang apa jadinya bumi ini jika atmosfir tidak ada. Foto di atas adalah kawah raksasa yang terbentuk akibat hantaman sebuah meteor yang jatuh di Arizona, Amerika Serikat. Jika atmosfir tidak ada, jutaan meteorid akan jatuh ke Bumi, sehingga menjadikannya tempat yang tak dapat dihuni. Namun, fungsi pelindung dari atmosfir memungkinkan makhluk hidup untuk melangsungkan kehidupannya dengan aman. Ini sudah pasti perlindungan yang Allah berikan bagi manusia, dan sebuah keajaiban yang dinyatakan dalam Al Qur'an.

Fungsi pelindung dari atmosfir tidak berhenti sampai di sini. Atmosfir juga melindungi bumi dari suhu dingin membeku ruang angkasa, yang mencapai sekitar 270 derajat celcius di bawah nol.

Tidak hanya atmosfir yang melindungi bumi dari pengaruh berbahaya. Selain atmosfir, Sabuk Van Allen, suatu lapisan yang tercipta akibat keberadaan medan magnet bumi, juga berperan sebagai perisai melawan radiasi berbahaya yang mengancam planet kita. Radiasi ini, yang terus- menerus dipancarkan oleh matahari dan bintang-bintang lainnya, sangat mematikan bagi makhuk hidup. Jika saja sabuk Van Allen tidak ada, semburan energi raksasa yang disebut jilatan api matahari yang terjadi berkali-berkali pada matahari akan menghancurkan seluruh kehidupan di muka bumi.

Dr. Hugh Ross berkata tentang perang penting Sabuk Van Allen bagi kehidupan kita:

Bumi ternyata memiliki kerapatan terbesar di antara planet-planet lain di tata surya kita. Inti bumi yang terdiri atas unsur nikel dan besi inilah yang menyebabkan keberadaan medan magnetnya yang besar. Medan magnet ini membentuk lapisan pelindung berupa radiasi Van-Allen, yang melindungi Bumi dari pancaran radiasi dari luar angkasa. Jika lapisan pelindung ini tidak ada, maka kehidupan takkan mungkin dapat berlangsung di Bumi. Energi yang dipancarkan dalam satu jilatan api saja, sebagaimana tercatat baru-baru ini, terhitung setara dengan 100 milyar bom atom yang serupa dengan yang dijatuhkan di Hiroshima. Lima puluh delapan jam setelah kilatan tersebut, teramati bahwa jarum magnetik kompas bergerak tidak seperti biasanya, dan 250 kilometer di atas atmosfir bumi terjadi peningkatan suhu tiba-tiba hingga mencapai 2.500 derajat celcius.

Singkatnya, sebuah sistem sempurna sedang bekerja jauh tinggi di atas bumi. Ia melingkupi bumi kita dan melindunginya dari berbagai ancaman dari luar angkasa. Para ilmuwan baru mengetahuinya sekarang, sementara berabad-abad lampau, kita telah diberitahu dalam Al Qur'an tentang atmosfir bumi yang berfungsi sebagai lapisan pelindung.

Energi yang dipancarkan oleh sebuah letusan pada Matahari sungguh amat dahsyat sehingga sulit dibayangkan akal manusia: Letusan tunggal pada matahari setara dengan ledakan 100 juta bom atom yang pernah dijatuhkan di Hiroshima. Bumi terlindungi dari pengaruh merusak akibat pancaran energi ini.

Kedalaman dan Ketebalan

Data dalam ilmu kebumian selalu berkaitan dengan kedalaman dan ketebalan. Oleh karena itu, seorang ahli ilmu kebumian harus mempunyai kemampuan untuk menentukan kedalaman dan ketebalan.

Kedalaman sendiri sebebarnya adalah lokasi sebuah titik, yang diukur secara vertikal terhadap ketinggian titik acuan.

Dalam ilmu Geofisika misalnya. Dikenal klasifikasi gempa berdasarkan kedalaman. Menurut Fowler, 1990, klasifikasi gempa berdasarkan kedalaman fokus adalah :

1.Gempa dangkal : kedalaman fokus gempa kurang dari 70 km

2.Gempa sedang : kedalamanan fokus gempa kurang dari 300 km

3.Gempa dalam : kedalaman fokus gempa lebih dari 300 km (kadang-kadang lebih dari 450 km)

Seperti halnya kedalaman, kemampuan untuk menentukan ketebalan juga sangat diperlukan dalam ilmu kebumian. Dengan mengetahui cara menghitung ketebalan, ahli kebumian bisa menyelidiki ketebalan lapisan-lapisan penyusun bumi sehingga kita bisa mengetahui bahwa ketebalan kerak bumi mencapai 100 km, ketebalan matel adalah sekitar 2900 km, liquid outer core sekitar 2200 km, dan solid inner core sekitar 1250 km.

Analisis geometri akifer (aquifer : lapisan yang dapat menyimpan dan mengalirkan air dalam jumlah yang ekonomis. Contoh : pasir, kerikil, batupasir, batugamping rekahan.) juga melibatkan analisis kedalaman dan ketebalan.

Jadi jelaslah bahwa sangat bermanfaat sekali, khususnya bagi orang-orang yang mempelajari ilmu kebumian, untuk mengetahui (cara) dan menentukan kedalaman. Karena mempelajari bumi berarti mempelajari segala yang ada di dalamnya. Dan itu berhubungan langsung dengan kedalaman dan ketebalan.

Bentuk Bulat Planet Bumi

"Dia menciptakan langit dan bumi dengan (tujuan) yang benar; Dia menutupkan malam atas siang dan menutupkan siang atas malam..." (Al Qur'an, 39:5)

Dalam Al Qur'an, kata-kata yang digunakan untuk menjelaskan tentang alam semesta sungguh sangat penting. Kata Arab yang diterjemahkan sebagai "menutupkan" dalam ayat di atas adalah "takwir". Dalam kamus bahasa Arab, misalnya, kata ini digunakan untuk menggambarkan pekerjaan membungkus atau menutup sesuatu di atas yang lain secara melingkar, sebagaimana surban dipakaikan pada kepala.

Keterangan yang disebut dalam ayat tersebut tentang siang dan malam yang saling menutup satu sama lain berisi keterangan yang tepat mengenai bentuk bumi. Pernyataan ini hanya benar jika bumi berbentuk bulat. Ini berarti bahwa dalam Al Qur'an, yang telah diturunkan di abad ke-7, telah diisyaratkan tentang bentuk planet bumi yang bulat.

Namun perlu diingat bahwa ilmu astronomi kala itu memahami bumi secara berbeda. Di masa itu, bumi diyakini berbentuk bidang datar, dan semua perhitungan serta penjelasan ilmiah didasarkan pada keyakinan ini. Sebaliknya, ayat-ayat Al Qur'an berisi informasi yang hanya mampu kita pahami dalam satu abad terakhir. Oleh karena Al Qur'an adalah firman Allah, maka tidak mengherankan jika kata-kata yang tepat digunakan dalam ayat-ayatnya ketika menjelaskan jagat raya.

Garis Edar

Tatkala merujuk kepada matahari dan bulan di dalam Al Qur'an, ditegaskan bahwa masing-masing bergerak dalam orbit atau garis edar tertentu.

"Dan Dialah yang telah menciptakan malam dan siang, matahari dan bulan. Masing-masing dari keduanya itu beredar di dalam garis edarnya." (Al Qur'an, 21:33)

Disebutkan pula dalam ayat yang lain bahwa matahari tidaklah diam, tetapi bergerak dalam garis edar tertentu:

"Dan matahari berjalan di tempat peredarannya. Demikianlah ketetapan Yang Maha Perkasa lagi Maha Mengetahui." (Al Qur'an, 36:38)

Fakta-fakta yang disampaikan dalam Al Qur'an ini telah ditemukan melalui pengamatan astronomis di zaman kita. Menurut perhitungan para ahli astronomi, matahari bergerak dengan kecepatan luar biasa yang mencapai 720 ribu km per jam ke arah bintang Vega dalam sebuah garis edar yang disebut Solar Apex. Ini berarti matahari bergerak sejauh kurang lebih 17.280.000 kilometer dalam sehari. Bersama matahari, semua planet dan satelit dalam sistem gravitasi matahari juga berjalan menempuh jarak ini. Selanjutnya, semua bintang di alam semesta berada dalam suatu gerakan serupa yang terencana.

Sebagaimana komet-komet lain di alam raya, komet Halley, sebagaimana terlihat di atas, juga bergerak mengikuti orbit atau garis edarnya yang telah ditetapkan. Komet ini memiliki garis edar khusus dan bergerak mengikuti garis edar ini secara harmonis bersama-sama dengan benda-benda langit lainnya.

Keseluruhan alam semesta yang dipenuhi oleh lintasan dan garis edar seperti ini, dinyatakan dalam Al Qur'an sebagai berikut:

"Demi langit yang mempunyai jalan-jalan." (Al Qur'an, 51:7)

Terdapat sekitar 200 milyar galaksi di alam semesta yang masing-masing terdiri dari hampir 200 bintang. Sebagian besar bintang-bintang ini mempunyai planet, dan sebagian besar planet-planet ini mempunyai bulan. Semua benda langit tersebut bergerak dalam garis peredaran yang diperhitungkan dengan sangat teliti. Selama jutaan tahun, masing-masing seolah "berenang" sepanjang garis edarnya dalam keserasian dan keteraturan yang sempurna bersama dengan yang lain. Selain itu, sejumlah komet juga bergerak bersama sepanjang garis edar yang ditetapkan baginya.

Semua benda langit termasuk planet, satelit yang mengiringi planet, bintang, dan bahkan galaksi, memiliki orbit atau garis edar mereka masing-masing. Semua orbit ini telah ditetapkan berdasarkan perhitungan yang sangat teliti dengan cermat. Yang membangun dan memelihara tatanan sempurna ini adalah Allah, Pencipta seluruh sekalian alam.

Garis edar di alam semesta tidak hanya dimiliki oleh benda-benda angkasa. Galaksi-galaksi pun berjalan pada kecepatan luar biasa dalam suatu garis peredaran yang terhitung dan terencana. Selama pergerakan ini, tak satupun dari benda-benda angkasa ini memotong lintasan yang lain, atau bertabrakan dengan lainnya. Bahkan, telah teramati bahwa sejumlah galaksi berpapasan satu sama lain tanpa satu pun dari bagian-bagiannya saling bersentuhan.

Dapat dipastikan bahwa pada saat Al Qur'an diturunkan, manusia tidak memiliki teleskop masa kini ataupun teknologi canggih untuk mengamati ruang angkasa berjarak jutaan kilometer, tidak pula pengetahuan fisika ataupun astronomi modern. Karenanya, saat itu tidaklah mungkin untuk mengatakan secara ilmiah bahwa ruang angkasa "dipenuhi lintasan dan garis edar" sebagaimana dinyatakan dalam ayat tersebut. Akan tetapi, hal ini dinyatakan secara terbuka kepada kita dalam Al Qur'an yang diturunkan pada saat itu: karena Al Qur'an adalah firman Allah.

Pemisahan Langit dan Bumi

Gambar ini menampakkan peristiwa Big Bang, yang sekali lagi mengungkapkan bahwa Allah telah menciptakan jagat raya dari ketiadaan. Big Bang adalah teori yang telah dibuktikan secara ilmiah. Meskipun sejumlah ilmuwan berusaha mengemukakan sejumlah teori tandingan guna menentangnya, namun bukti-bukti ilmiah malah menjadikan teori Big Bang diterima secara penuh oleh masyarakat ilmiah.

Satu ayat lagi tentang penciptaan langit adalah sebagaimana berikut:

"Dan apakah orang-orang yang kafir tidak mengetahui bahwasanya langit dan bumi itu keduanya dahulu adalah suatu yang padu, kemudian Kami pisahkan antara keduanya. Dan dari air Kami jadikan segala sesuatu yang hidup. Maka mengapakah mereka tiada juga beriman?" (Al Qur'an, 21:30)

Kata "ratq" yang di sini diterjemahkan sebagai "suatu yang padu" digunakan untuk merujuk pada dua zat berbeda yang membentuk suatu kesatuan. Ungkapan "Kami pisahkan antara keduanya" adalah terjemahan kata Arab "fataqa", dan bermakna bahwa sesuatu muncul menjadi ada melalui peristiwa pemisahan atau pemecahan struktur dari "ratq". Perkecambahan biji dan munculnya tunas dari dalam tanah adalah salah satu peristiwa yang diungkapkan dengan menggunakan kata ini.

Marilah kita kaji ayat ini kembali berdasarkan pengetahuan ini. Dalam ayat tersebut, langit dan bumi adalah subyek dari kata sifat "fatq". Keduanya lalu terpisah ("fataqa") satu sama lain. Menariknya, ketika mengingat kembali tahap-tahap awal peristiwa Big Bang, kita pahami bahwa satu titik tunggal berisi seluruh materi di alam semesta. Dengan kata lain, segala sesuatu, termasuk "langit dan bumi" yang saat itu belumlah diciptakan, juga terkandung dalam titik tunggal yang masih berada pada keadaan "ratq" ini. Titik tunggal ini meledak sangat dahsyat, sehingga menyebabkan materi-materi yang dikandungnya untuk "fataqa" (terpisah), dan dalam rangkaian peristiwa tersebut, bangunan dan tatanan keseluruhan alam semesta terbentuk.

Ketika kita bandingkan penjelasan ayat tersebut dengan berbagai penemuan ilmiah, akan kita pahami bahwa keduanya benar-benar bersesuaian satu sama lain. Yang sungguh menarik lagi, penemuan-penemuan ini belumlah terjadi sebelum abad ke-20.

Mengembangnya Alam Semesta

Dalam Al Qur'an, yang diturunkan 14 abad silam di saat ilmu astronomi masih terbelakang, mengembangnya alam semesta digambarkan sebagaimana berikut ini:

"Dan langit itu Kami bangun dengan kekuasaan (Kami) dan sesungguhnya Kami benar-benar meluaskannya." (Al Qur'an, 51:47)

Kata "langit", sebagaimana dinyatakan dalam ayat ini, digunakan di banyak tempat dalam Al Qur'an dengan makna luar angkasa dan alam semesta. Di sini sekali lagi, kata tersebut digunakan dengan arti ini. Dengan kata lain, dalam Al Qur'an dikatakan bahwa alam semesta "mengalami perluasan atau mengembang". Dan inilah yang kesimpulan yang dicapai ilmu pengetahuan masa kini.

Sejak terjadinya peristiwa Big Bang, alam semesta telah mengembang secara terus-menerus dengan kecepatan maha dahsyat. Para ilmuwan menyamakan peristiwa mengembangnya alam semesta dengan permukaan balon yang sedang ditiup.

Hingga awal abad ke-20, satu-satunya pandangan yang umumnya diyakini di dunia ilmu pengetahuan adalah bahwa alam semesta bersifat tetap dan telah ada sejak dahulu kala tanpa permulaan. Namun, penelitian, pengamatan, dan perhitungan yang dilakukan dengan teknologi modern, mengungkapkan bahwa alam semesta sesungguhnya memiliki permulaan, dan ia terus-menerus "mengembang".

Pada awal abad ke-20, fisikawan Rusia, Alexander Friedmann, dan ahli kosmologi Belgia, George Lemaitre, secara teoritis menghitung dan menemukan bahwa alam semesta senantiasa bergerak dan mengembang.

Fakta ini dibuktikan juga dengan menggunakan data pengamatan pada tahun 1929. Ketika mengamati langit dengan teleskop, Edwin Hubble, seorang astronom Amerika, menemukan bahwa bintang-bintang dan galaksi terus bergerak saling menjauhi. Pengamatan yang dilakukan di tahun-tahun berikutnya memperkokoh fakta bahwa alam semesta terus mengembang. Kenyataan ini diterangkan dalam Al Qur'an pada saat tak seorang pun mengetahuinya. Ini dikarenakan Al Qur'an adalah firman Allah, Sang Pencipta, dan Pengatur keseluruhan alam semesta.

Asal mula alam semesta digambarkan dalam Al Qur'an pada ayat berikut:

"Dialah pencipta langit dan bumi." (Al Qur'an, 6:101)

Keterangan yang diberikan Al Qur'an ini bersesuaian penuh dengan penemuan ilmu pengetahuan masa kini. Kesimpulan yang didapat astrofisika saat ini adalah bahwa keseluruhan alam semesta, beserta dimensi materi dan waktu, muncul menjadi ada sebagai hasil dari suatu ledakan raksasa yang tejadi dalam sekejap. Peristiwa ini, yang dikenal dengan "Big Bang", membentuk keseluruhan alam semesta sekitar 15 milyar tahun lalu. Jagat raya tercipta dari suatu ketiadaan sebagai hasil dari ledakan satu titik tunggal. Kalangan ilmuwan modern menyetujui bahwa Big Bang merupakan satu-satunya penjelasan masuk akal dan yang dapat dibuktikan mengenai asal mula alam semesta dan bagaimana alam semesta muncul menjadi ada.

Sebelum Big Bang, tak ada yang disebut sebagai materi. Dari kondisi ketiadaan, di mana materi, energi, bahkan waktu belumlah ada, dan yang hanya mampu diartikan secara metafisik, terciptalah materi, energi, dan waktu. Fakta ini, yang baru saja ditemukan ahli fisika modern, diberitakan kepada kita dalam Al Qur'an 1.400 tahun lalu.

Sensor sangat peka pada satelit ruang angkasa COBE yang diluncurkan NASA pada tahun 1992 berhasil menangkap sisa-sisa radiasi ledakan Big Bang. Penemuan ini merupakan bukti terjadinya peristiwa Big Bang, yang merupakan penjelasan ilmiah bagi fakta bahwa alam semesta diciptakan dari ketiadaan.

Herschel Space Telescope has recently been presenting spectacular views of the fog of gas that lies near the Milky Way field. The image was taken revealed the existence of intense activity and unexpected. Dark areas and cold with the points where the stars are born like cosmic pearls.

On 3 September, Herschel directed to a reservoir of cold gas in the fog the Southern Cross constellation (Southern Cross) in the near field of the galaxy. As the telescope scans the sky, the device Spectral and photometric imaging receiver, Spire, and the Photoconductor Array Camera and Spectrometer, PACS took some images of the area located at about 60 ° from the center of the galaxy, thousands of light years from Earth.

Five infrared wavelengths has been encoded in the form of colors to allow scientists to distinguish material that is very cold (red) with the surrounding environment is a little warmer (blue).

This image reveals the structure of the material in our galaxy, in a form that had never seen before. Even before there is a more detailed analysis, scientists have been collecting information on the quantity of material, mass, temperature, composition, and whether these structures are collapsing to form new stars.

What's Behind physics formulas?

However, many things happen in our education is that most students only see the formulas that are in fragments. They do not (want to) know the story or concept behind these formulas. This results in the analysis of weak students, so they can only solve the immediate problem and that is easy to use only one formula. If there are problems using the concept of different-which means also using more than one formula-they confusion finish.

Here are some examples of the confusion of the students of the formula in physics:

1) The formula for the coefficient of static friction is often expressed by:

μ = tan θ ..........( 1)

This formula is often the students understood that the coefficient of static friction (μ) depending on the size of the field angle (θ). Yet this understanding was wrong. The coefficient of static friction depends only on the type of materials that rub together. Aspartame is an artificial sweetener from the non-sugar groups that sakarida widely used for diet products or low-calorie products. Aspartame is sweeter about 180-200 times than regular sugar with the same concentration. This means that by using these sweeteners, we only need 1 / 200 times less aspartame than using regular sugar.

Aspartame is none other than the methyl esters of natural amino acids dipeptida namely aspartic acid and phenylalanine. Aspartame is found by accident by James Schlatter, a chemist at GD Searle Co. in 1965. Schlatter has unexpectedly synthesize aspartame at the time he made anti-pain medication.

Aspartame Synthesis
There are 3 reagents required for the synthesis of aspartame, methanol, phenylalanine, and aspartic acid. Comparison mol aspartic acid and phenylalanine is 1:1 then the mass of each of these amino acids are:

Aspartic acid

= 8.5 x10-4 mol x 133 = 0.11 g

Phenylalanine

= 8.5 x10-4 mol x 165 = 0.14 g

Calories produced are:

= (0.11 g + 0.14 g) x 4 = 1 calorie

From the above calculation can be seen that by consuming beverages using aspartame as a sweetener, we only get just 1 calorie. This is tantamount to saying calories can ignore it because it was the aspatam can be used as a substitute for sugar with 0 calories.
